WOW!!! Reading this book is like re-taking my Mathematical Statistics course, except without using a dedicated statistics program supplied the university. It is an excellent refresher course that is superbly structured in which the reader builds his/her knowledge of both statistics and MS Excel's Data Analydis Add-In. Until I read this book, I had never understand how to fully use the Data Analysis Add-in package (or its earlier versions) as MS Excel's explanation is deplorable. It's of little or no help whatsoever.I particularly like the manner in which the author doesn't require the reader to read each chapter sequentially. He allows a little wiggle room by referencing prior examples and inserting notes that specifically reference pertinent points discussed in prior chapters. Also, his step-by-step approach to charting is fantastic. As an example, I never would have envisioned using MS Excel Charts to illustrate an overlapping comparison of "areas under the curve", let alone figure out how to do it.This book is an excellent reference tool, which allows the reader to apply statistical analyses to everyday situations while utilizing a software program that in all likelihood the reader already owns.

A very practical approach to Excel statistical functions. I enjoy how he explains the graphs as well as how to create them. He also has some videos that are worth purchasing. One of the things I enjoy is he's not intimidated to in pointing out some of the problems MS introduces as well as supports the belief that these functions will provide you data good enough for any business decision you'll face. No really, I am so passionate to exams such as GRE and GMAT that when new material comes out and as it turns out it could give me a new insight, a new hint, a unique perspective to tackle the exam, well, I am so happy. Eventually, I went through the book in one breath. I have to admit it is a kilometric book. I bought in Kindle edition, but I do not want to imagine to bring it with me around: over seven hundred pages - a tome. They have condensed what was divided into several books in the previous version - Manhattan Prep GRE Set of 8 Strategy Guides - in one huge brick.Before we had the book of algebra, the publication of word problems but now we have all these in one spot called unit. In the same unfolding of the books aforementioned.According to the same company, this book is "The content in the new Manhattan Prep GRE Math Strategies is an updated version of the math content in the Manhattan Prep GRE Set of 8 Strategy Guides." Unfortunately, this is not correctly true, if not at all. I have scanned the entire book from the cover to the acknowledgments, and the only difference I have spotted is the missing table about what to do and what do not with inequalities (it was so useful as a recap for the student to bear in mind).For the rest, if you compare every single book of the previous version with this book side by side, not a comma is changed. No a single question or example to teach, to mastery, to consolidate every unique concept exam-related is new. ALL IS THE SAME. This book is exactly the mirror of the previous book sets. On top of that, things get worse when we reach the end of the book: in the earlier version, we had the drill sets to cement every single math concept, strategy, tips taught you along the way. Moreover, we had the practice question sets in which the questions had been divided into easy/medium/hard level of difficulty and the questions itself were amazing. Everything was perfect (or almost).In this new version, all this have been faded out. Completely. Gone. With much my surprise, I must admit. It is a real step behind, almost a Waterloo for Manhattan Prep, considering when it comes out with a new product the attention to the details, the high stringent standards they use both to craft the theory and the practice to provide the top-notch material overall. Of course, we cannot pretend that from one book to a new release an overhaul comes into play, this is impossible. Unless the exam itself is not changed (the last GRE shift was in 2011) most of the books are good for years to come. However, in this case, the amount of money that the students should spend on this new-old version is not justified.For those who do not have the previous set of books, I would certainly buy this. Having all that Manhattan offers in one book is convenient and easy to use. However, who has already the previous release, is time to look somewhere else. Here, there is nothing new under the sun.I would give it five stars because the quality of the contents is high, without a shadow of a doubt, but a copy and paste this turn could be avoided.Domenico AKA Carcass.greprepclub.com

I have no sophisticated math education credentials (unlike one of my impressive fellow reviewers of this text), however, the authors do. Obviously. My own background is applied engineering and I do know working math and test taking. This is an excellent preparation or review tool, moving the student from the unknown to the known. Clear explanations and logic is shared along with the problem solving examples and exercises. Not familiar with previous editions, but this appears to be an outstanding GRE math resource.

What a great book. Manhattan Prep keys on the people who had scored in the top 1% for their strategies in taking the math portions of the GRE. You get a lot of practice in this book and, just as importantly, strategies for efficiently taking the exam.

Its a practical guide for speed reading people. A very learning approach. If you want to become social intelligent then get this book. A very good approach from author.

The problem resides in developing these skills when you're a natural introvert or have a severe case of social anxiety. I was one of these cases and struggled a lot because of it. I could never get past small talk with the opposite sex. I simply lacked the social fluidity to transition plain interactions into meaningul conversations. Thsnks author for creating us a new book for all of us!
