Great book! The team owner requires the quarterback to get counseling in order to play. He requires his best friend's daughter to counsel him to get her inheritance that he controls. They end up in Puerto Rico building homes for people who lost theirs in the hurricane, which turns out to be the best treatment for both of them. Great feel good book.
Dax Brady has lost the biggest game of his life. Plus has some personal problems he is dealing with. Sky Brooks a therapist has been brought back home by her father's best friend Jon. Jon wants Sky to help Dax. Well written story with strong and believable characters. Really enjoy Taylor Hart books.
Good book. Lots of fun. Very short. But good.
Thanks to my husband’s sports instruction over the years I know the importance of the mental game the players play in sports. Poor Dax was struggling to with his mental game and it cost him the super bowl. So not surprisingly a therapist is brought in to help him recover from the loss and evaluate him to see if he can be a first string quarterback. I wholeheartedly agree with Sky’s therapy method: helping others takes your mind off of your own problems and helps you get some perspective on your life. Sky is still running from her own problems and hasn’t been able to work as a therapist in over a year. So this book has two people who are grieving and lost in one way or another. Both have been able to go thru the motions of their lives but past events has made them hold back from really moving forward. This was a really sweet story of each of them helping the other one heal. And of course falling in love always makes life better too!The story progressed a little fast for me to find it believable, this the 4 stars, but it was enjoyable nonetheless and a fun read.
Dax Brady was the next star quarterback for the Texas Titan Football team if he can get his act together. He has had a lot of tragedy in his life. A year earlier, he caught his fiance' kissing his twin brother before the wedding. Then his little brother was diagnosed with ALS, a horrible disease from which there is no cure. He was reeling and needed to get his mojo back.Sky Brooks is a therapist who hasn't practiced since the death of her father a year ago. Jon Kincaid from the Texas Titan organization has given her the task of "fixing" Dax Brady. She isn't sure she can do that or that she can help anyone anymore, including herself. She has a $3 million dollar inheritance that is tied to this challenge. If she can't fix Dax, she can't get her money. All she wants to do is go back to Puerto Rico to help build homes and help others to recover from the hurricane.She has a bright idea that she will take Dax to Puerto Rico so she can fix him there. In the process, maybe she can be fixed, too.I really enjoyed reading this book. I have read several in the Texas Titan football series. These alpha football players have big hearts and are good to the core. This story was a clean romance with no foul language. It was just a nice, feel good romance.I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review and would encourage those who enjoy a book that makes you feel good, this might be the one for you to read.
Another great book by Ms. Hart! Dax Brady and Sky Brooks are used to healing and helping others, but this time they need to focus on themselves.Dax runs into Sky as he's fighting to remain with the Texas Titans as their quarterback. An advisor to the team's owner, who is also Sky's surrogate father must be convinced that he should stay in Texas. He also has his eye on healing Sky, who is heartbroken after the death of her own father.Dax is carrying the burdens of his brothers and their family issues. His mother and brothers are after him to make peace for the sake of his sanity, someone close to him has just received a serious medical diagnosis, and the path to keeping his spot with the Titans involves Sky, who is not convinced she's the right one to help him.Sky has been pushing aside her grief and loosing herself in the Carribean. She wants access to her trust fund, but Dax is now part of the deal.This sweet story deals with family issues, pushing through losses...and losses yet to come, and realizing that no matter how bad you think you have it, there are others who would love to have your problems. Ms. Hart has woven realistic characters into a story of forgiveness, family, and future hope.If you're looking for a sweet read to give you hope, this is your book. Download it now.I received an ARC. There is something about Taylor Hart’s football romance books that sucks you right into the heart of the story with witty dialogue, broken and hurting yet heroic characters, and fun plot. This story is no exception. It’s relatively short so can be read in one sitting. This Texas Titan story involves its second-string quarterback Dax, who has a lot of emotional baggage and needs his mental and emotional button reset if he wants to be the starting quarterback. Dax is loyal, kind, compassionate, and tender; he’s immediately lovable from the first page. He’s forced to spend time with Sky, a therapist who’s given up on counseling and now builds homes in Puerto Rico. Sky also has some painful past that she hasn’t let go of yet and the two learn about vulnerability and forgiveness as their friendship and attraction grow. It’s a clean romance; although cursing is mentioned in the narrative, there aren’t actual words written. I really enjoyed the way the author weaved characters from previous books into the story and am hoping that Dax’s four brothers will have stories of their own soon.I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review.
