Written very well and it is easy to understand. I always relied on Nolo as they put more thought in their material than most authors regarding bankruptcy. The question is will it work for me? That I don't know as it will put a negative mark on my credit report where I would lose points and imagine it will have to stay on my credit for a number of years. Yes, it wipe everything out which include many doctor bills. It might inhibit me to get better medical care. Once they have your social security number, very easily a credit check can be run. That is what concerns me.

When a consumer gets into debt over their head and is unable to keep up the payments on the bills, sometimes bankruptcy is the best way out. The author explains the differences between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 and why a debtor would choose one or the other. He also explains the means test, which determines whether Chapter 7 bankruptcy is available. He explains the purposes of bankruptcy as well as the consequences. He also explains the limitations of bankruptcy. Not all debts may be discharged and some property is excluded from the reach of creditors. The book is written for the average reader and the language is clear and concise. This book does not cover Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is for businesses, or Chapter 12 bankruptcy, which is for farms. It does not provide step-by-step instructions for filing bankruptcy. For that, you will need another book. The book is fairly short and half of its content is made up of a glossary, sample forms, and a table of federal and state exemptions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering personal bankruptcy.

As always, Nolo books are the best! I am in the legal profession and Nolo Books are far better than the ordinarly law books, especially on Bankruptcy. They are great reference books and they are wonderful to look up something that would take hours to look up in law books. I recommend Nolo for anyone who needs this type of information, both non-lawyer and lawyers!

As a bankruptcy lawyer, I sometimes teach people how to file their own bankruptcy and this book has proven to be an indispensable tool for my classes. It is also helpful for my individual consultations with persons wondering whether bankruptcy is the right choice for them. The authors use plain, non-technical language to help lay persons, and even experts, better understand the purposes and processes of bankruptcy in light of the most recent changes to the law. This is an excellent guide to bankruptcy that anyone contemplating it should read.

This book has so much information in it. Found out I could get a bigger exemption on my home because my son lives with me. Also written so its easily understandable. Would certainly recommend to anyone thinking of filing.

There is something incredible to be said about a book that has been continuously published a little over 40 years. Initially published in 1974, the authors both converse and elaborate in an informal tone on both the history and techniques of not just improving memory but also distinct methods on particular matters as simple as remembering shopping lists to sports plays. By concentrating on the second step, everything else you want to know will coalesce around and finally you will be actually learning. While I seriously doubt the methods and exercises will turn you into stage act on par with Harry Lorayne, being able to remember names, faces, and the associated phone would be an impressive feat in this age of the omniscient contact lists.

If you are interested in memory improvement, this book is foundational and possibly the only memory book you will need. Harry lays the basics for mnemonics, pegs, and other basic aspects of memorization techniques. Reread value is incredibly high, as this book is intended for memory mastery. It has a conversational aspect which makes it easy to read.

It is truly amazing how simply and quickly this book teaches you to perform magic-seeming memory feats. After only reading two chapters I could receit all fifty states of the US both forward and BACKWARD in forward or reverse alphabetic order (probably took me 15 to 20 minutes to memorize). Trust me, if I had attempted something like that before it would have taken me hours to memorize. My only regret is I did not read this book when I was in High School. For the record, I am now 61, you really can teach an old dog new tricks.

I actually read a sample of this book on Amazon before I ordered it. Part of the beginning of the book was about memorizing a list. I did the exercise and memorized the list and now two weeks later I can still recall that list! I was so excited to get the book. It may be old but that does not mean it is not relevant. Quick service. Book as described. 👍
