great workbook for intermediate micro

This book is extremely bad and unfortunately some professors still require it as mine does. I wonder why, because there are numerous mistakes and many questions in it don't actually make coherent sense. Definitely do not buy if you're not required to.

As the product described. it is a workout book. Very useful for the class I took. I actually learned a lot while using this workout book. It was in good condition but the packaging was really odd. It came in wrapped in card boards.

This book stretched my understanding of economics. If you truly want to learn microeconomics, this book will develop your math and analytical skills.

This book is worthless. There aren't any guidelines or step by step exercises follow. I wish I have not bought it

The book was delivered in exactly the amount of days that I expected it to arrive in. The book is very helpful for the study of microeconomics. I would recommend this book to people who are majoring in economics/interested in economics.

When I began reading this book I thought I understood burnout. Personally I have recently identified for myself that I am not being fulfilled in my career and personal life and have begun to implement many of the strategies the author lists in his book. What I did not understand until I read the book was that I was actually suffering from burnout and the contributing factors. I also learned from his book how I got to this point.I found the book easy to read. I intended to read a few chapters this evening and didn't stop until I was finished. I really liked how the author was easy to understand and follow. I liked that he presented various scenarios and multiple options of achieving the same outcome.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with burnout or even just looking for a change in life.

Although the focus of this book is teaching one how to deal with career burnout, it offers sound advice that can also be used as a guide when burnout is experienced in other parts of life. Most of us experience that powerless, exhausted feeling at some point. This book reminds us that when we take charge of our lives and work towards positive change, our mindset can change. With that mindset change, our outlook in all areas of our life can change. Positive self talk and reinforcement of positive habits all serve well to change mindset in a positive direction. In his book, Rex provides us with a guide, complete with extra tips and references, that can help us work towards that change. While none of his suggestions are overly profound and most are things that we probably already know, these are concepts that we tend to overlook in our daily lives. I am not normally a reader, but this topic is timely for myself and many people ! I found this book to be full of wisdom and great advice on dealing with burnout. Its a very easy reading book and whole not a reader, I finished in a day of off and on reading. Upon completion, I feel energized and ready to start afresh in my job. I had reached a point of not reading caring and that was a bad place to be. Thanks to Rex Baker and this book, I'm ready to tackle the next season of my career by refocusing! I will ver purchasing multiple copies to gift to friends who feeling burnout.

I wish I would have read this book 2 years ago. And I would have realized my problem was not my employment but myself. I was burned out. This is a fresh perspective on an age-old problem. Mr. Baker provided thought-provoking reading and doesn’t leave you hanging with what to do next he offers his readers doable suggestions on how to either avoid burnout or how to re-energize yourself. One of the suggestions is to start reading the right books. Well, I say add this book to your list of reading. It is a quick and easy book to read with personal antidotes on what has worked for him – I never felt like I was being told how “stupid” I am because I was burned out. Instead, I felt like I was listening to a friend offering wise suggestions

Maurice Pledger is an internationally-acclaimed artist known for his realistic and detailed illustrations of animals and wildlife. We've had good luck with the Pledger books, and this was a nice entry; it has turned out to be the favorite of the various themed books. The books can't take rough use, (especially the flaps), but at least none of ours have been tetchy. Battery operated books can sometimes fade in and out between working and not working, but that hasn't been our experience. Even if the sound didn't work the pictures are engaging and the animals are "friendly" looking, so this still works as a picture book. The sounds, though, are the icing on the cake.

My son loves these books. I would honestly buy the whole series if I could afford it. The book is a pop out what has different ocean sounds for each page. I bought this for him when he was less than 1 year old and we still use it once a week. It probably will last him until he is even school age, or maybe older. The book has interesting and colorful pictures. The different ocean sounds are realistic and clear. Also, the book has very detailed information about the different ocean creatures so it's interesting to look at as an adult or older child.

We first purchased the ocean book & loved it. We then bought the rest of the books & they are all exceptionally fantastic. Each child has different favorites, but they are all really good quality & very educational.Our favorites are the ocean, night & safari. If you do have younger one's as others have noted the pop-ups are somewhat easy to pull out so be careful; however, the younger one's really enjoy them as well so I would still share them w/ them. I actually kept the pieces they pull out & you can use them in scrapbooking or arts/crafts. So, while they tear them out of the book at least you can find another use for them.The sound can vary a bit from book to book in the series & sometimes can be loud. This can be good/bad depending on your child. As an adult it is really neat to turn each page & have the sounds of the animals/mammals/species sound out at you (depends on which book in the series you buy - for example in the ocean book our favorite page with sound are the whales). If the adults find it enjoyable then the children must love it!!!These books are a very good find - the quality is excellent & there is so much to learn in them & they are fun!Highly recommend.

The sounds and pictures are fantastic with this book. However, 3 of the pages have torn pop-ups that makes the book look used. For example you turn a page and it won't pop-up because the left side of the pop-up has been torn from the backing and laying against the white page. I'll have to buy some strong glue to fix this. I ordered this book new so this was definitely a disappointment to have it arrive in the condition that it did. I'm not sure if I just got a used one or if the pages are too flimsy to hold together.

Bought 2 of these, one for each grandson for Christmas. One of them arrived with a dead battery. I ordered new batteries which would be needed anyway and the sounds are really realistic. This should hold my 2 and 3 year old grandson's attention. The pop ups are amazing and they move! Great price and could not find anything like this in a children's book club I am in, just on amazon!

My kids love these books... we have 3. The batteries die after about a year. The illustrations are great, as are the sounds and pop ups. Very educational as well as entertaining for little ones.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for a five year-old boy and his siblings. I would have kept it for myself if I hadn't had the children in mind. I've always loved pop-up books and this one's a beauty. Their mother said they haven't lost their interest in it yet.

Originally found this book at a museum in Key West FL. Loved it so much I paid full price for my first copy. I have since purchased 3 additional books for grandchildren and my sister, who is an elementary school teacher, doing a unit on Oceans. The pop up scenes are beautiful and the sounds are so realistic you would swear you are under water!

Tim, if you're reading this, I have a great idea for you at the end of this review. No sarcasm, no snark.DISCLAIMER: I am a Tim Ferriss apologist. I've listened to almost every episode of his podcast. Own his books. Have been following him since 4 Hour Work Week came out.Tim's podcast has rewired my brain. My life is measurably better because of what I've learned. Literally. I have hereditary cholesterol problems and my forays into a ketogenic lifestyle dropped my particle count from ~1950 to ~1225. There are many other great things that have come as a result of my exposure to Tim's podcast, too many to list here.When he announced TOOLS OF TITANS, I was ecstatic. I pre-ordered this book in September.I'm sad to say that I'm non-plussed, borderline disappointed.On one hand, I love having a "totem" of something that has changed my life so profoundly. To that end, I am happy to own the book.On the other hand, it does not deliver on its promise. This is supposedly a "recipe book" (according to page xvi in the Foreword).It is no such thing.If I want to bake an apple pie, I go to the Table of Contents, I look up apple pie, I turn to that page.You cannot do that in this book.Tim has amazing things to say about meditation. A few guests on his podcast have amazing things to say about meditation (Sam Harris, Naval Ravikant, Kevin Rose, etc.).But there is no central place to which you can turn to find out the collected wisdom of the many guests who have delved into this topic.The same goes for investing. The same goes for particular health hacks.In fact, there's not even one central place in the book that gives a list of the commonalities between the guests. That's a HUGE missed opportunity.THE ADVICE:Make a second edition. Soon. It doesn't even have to add new content. Just tighten this up and make it so that you can read about certain topics in a centralized place. If there are parts that don't fit, maybe have an author section at the back... but, dang.FINAL THOUGHT:Millionaires become millionaires (in part) because they've learned to say "no." They have the discipline to turn down the good, so that they can pursue (and achieve) the great.This book is just too too too much good. It doesn't tell you what is great. It will leave you chasing dozens upon dozens of random tactics and thoughts in a dozen different fields.It might teach the tactics and routines and habits of world-class performers, but there's FAR TOO MUCH here to make it valuable in showing YOU how to achieve those heights. And, if there is ONE person that you could model to become like them in their field... there is FAR TOO LITTLE here to actually help you on your way.

This is the first Tim Ferriss book I've actually read, after listening to Tim Tim Talk Talk for about a year now. As I sit down to write this, I'm finding it quite difficult to express exactly how I feel about the book, and what Ferriss ultimately represents. I found his podcast at a very difficult time in my life, where I was searching for a way out of a seemingly hopeless situation. At about 3 am, I stumbled upon Tim Ferriss. Since then, my life has changed dramatically. The content in this book is incredibly helpful not only in terms of the actual information, but what the information represents. It proves to the reader that those Billionaires, Icons, and legends are just people. They all had difficult child hoods, periods of massive failure, and times where they felt hopeless. They made it from there to the top simply by doing what works, and ignoring what doesn't, day after day after day. If I could, I'd distribute this book to every person on earth. Not because each person needs a chillipad, or exogenous ketones or whatever, but because each person needs to realize that the future is malleable, and daily habits are the paint by which we create our destiny. There are no secrets, or hacks, or tactics reserved for the special elite. It's all right here, in this book. Its simply a matter of applying what will help you, ignoring what won't, and taking advice only from those who have a life you'd like to emulate.So thanks Tim. Please continue with what you're doing. I have a suspicion that in twenty years, there will be a lot of people who will cite this book and podcast as the thing that turned their life around. Be happy about that. It all really does make a difference.

The best thing I can say about Tim Ferriss is that he's introduced me to an incredible group of people that have changed my life. These people are world class performers that look at their skills, the world, and their lives in deeply contemplative, humble, and surprising ways.And that's how you should read this book. Look at it as a phone book of introductions to Titans.In each section, "Healthy", "Wealthy", and "Wise", you'll get questions to ask yourself and a path to head down. You won't necessarily get the full plan, but you'll get the questions and the direction to go.Again, this is not a manual, but a phone book and a map. Use it accordingly to your advantage.

The idea was a good one. Tim has spent thousands of hours interviewing top performers in every category and industry. So sit down and distill the collective wisdom into a book -- seems like a great idea, right?But all in all, it's too superficial -- it's divided up by person, not by topic, so you get 2 pages of distilled wisdom from each performer, but without the full context, the advice loses almost all its power.I imagine this was AMAZING for Tim to write -- he said he took a month off and spent all his time going through all his interview notes and condensing the most important parts from each interview. But Tim met the people, knows their accomplishments, and spent time talking to them. How much of that power is supposed to convey in 2 pages if I don't even know who the expert is?For Tim, this book is probably the ultimate summary and reminder of all the powerful stuff his interviewees have told him. But for readers, it's little more than a disparate mishmash of "I did this for X result and that for Y result" over and over again.

In Tools of Titans, Tim grabbed some of the best of his podcast and moved it into print. But the content is missing real structure and is mixed with silly nonsense that is meant to be funny but misses the mark such as favorite spirit animals and his useless billboard question. There are some golden nuggets in here and they are worth going after, I just had to work a little harder than I wanted. It was worth the price especially after 200+free episodes of the podcast which I enjoy every week.

The advice is kind of obvious. I give it 3 stars because even if the book is obvious, it helped me to find a great and likable idea.

The premise of the book is this: There are valuable lessons to be learned from those who have highly-developed skills that enable them to "find the best ideas and make them happen." Better yet, these are skills that almost anyone else can develop in combination with (a) an insatiable curiosity to understand what works, what doesn't, and why; (b) an eagerness to communicate, cooperate, and - most important of all - collaborate/co-create with others; and (c) determination to sustain the "hunt" (Thomas Edison's term for his search for solutions) despite whatever resistance, ridicule, and setbacks that may be encountered. With assistance from William Bole, Andy Boyton and Bill Fischer explain in this book what they The DeepDive(tm), a combination of brainstorming, prototyping and feedback loops merged into an approach they devised that executives can use with teams to help develop solutions for specific business challenges.The focus of the book is on a process called I.D.E.A. whose foundation consists of four principles: Interested (i.e. insatiable curiosity), Diverse (i.e. locating or generating as many different ideas as possible from as many different sources as possible), Exercised (e.g. constant, relentless, sharply-focused observation of mental, emotional, and intuitive activity as well as whatever the senses experience in the physical world), and finally, Agile (i.e. developing cognitive and analytical skills that are razor-sharp, flexible, and resilient). Actually, every one in an organization (including, especially, C-level executives) should continuously strengthen the skills each of these principles requires because all organizations needo Idea Hunters (with in satiable curiosity)o Idea Finders (who recognize possibilities no one else does)o Idea Evaluators (who have high-standards and are baggage-free)o Idea Marketers (to create demand, both internally and externally)o Idea Refiners (who understand that improvement is an on-going process, not a destination)Note: I presume to suggest that when a "Best Ideas" team is formed, that its members possess cross-functional talents (essential to evangelism during barrier removal) and that the model be appropriate to the given organization's needs, interests, resources, and goals; also, that formulation of the model be based on this book as well as on what Pixar and IDEO do and how they do it. Caveat: Adapt rather than adopt best practices.Boynton and Fischer brilliantly explain which habits are most important during the "hunt" (Pages 90-94), what "Idea Flow" is and does as well as how to sustain it (101-119), and how to create great conversations (129-141). I was especially interested in their insertion of four sets of "IdeaWork" observations and recommendations. The first: Selling [actually Setting Aside] the Best Hour of the Day at [for] Yourself" (39-43), #2: "The I's and the T's" (65-68); #3: "Assembling an Idea Portfolio" (91-97), and #4: "Ready-Set, Launch" (121-127). Value-added benefits are plentiful. For example, Boynton and Fischer include a "Self Assessment" (1`46-150 that, all by itself, is worth far more than the cost of the book. Also an outstanding "References" section comprised of the books, articles, and online resources they recommend.In addition to the books that Andy Boynton and Bill Fischer recommend, I presume to add two by Tom Kelley (The Art of Innovation and The Ten Faces of Innovation) as well as two more recently published books, David Kord Murray's Borrowing Brilliance and Josh Linkner's Disciplined Dreaming.

Drawn by comics legend Reed Crandall who also drew for E C Comics. Told in their inimitable Classics Illustrated tradition which has made their comic adaptations popular with educators as well as students and readers of all ages. Faithful to the source novel. The series provides a great introduction to classic literary works and this is one of their best. As usual the goal of the publishers is to encourage young readers to go on and read the original works of literature. Most of this series also include informative essays or biographies of the author as well as questions for classroom study. One of their best.

Very good value and a good read for teens and children who want to read the Classic books but do not read the books.
