Don Dickerman, a Southern Baptist minister, has directed an evangelistic ministry to prisons since 1974. Don received an anointing from the Lord Jesus to minister in the areas of deliverance and healing. Don has seen many receive deliverance and healing through his ministry. Graduated from a Baptist seminary and is an ordained Baptist minister, having pastored churches and working as an evangelist prior to answering God’s call to minister in prisons in 1974. Don is Spirit-filled, anointed, and has an exciting ministry both to prisons and churches.

Years ago I read Frank Hammond's book "Pigs in the Parlor" which was my first introduction to spiritual warfare, demonic activity, deliverance and generational curses. It came in handy since there was a generational curse on my family which this book showed the means to break it. Years later, I feel like God is leading me into a deliverance ministry and I found this book and Don Dickerman on Amazon. What a fantastic resource. I also ordered his books "Keep the Pigs Out" and "Turmoil in the Temple" along with a lot of other books on deliverance. But this book "When Pigs Move In" is the first book I was drawn to read, and it's a eye-opener in what is really happening inside of every one, not just unbelievers.
Highly informative about a subject that can't be proved but seems to correspond to the encounters Christ Jesus had in the Bible. No one "has to" believe in it but the fact is prayer doesn't hurt anyone but is useful to set Christians free from traumas or experiences that have happened to people and left them unable to progress in areas of their life, or to experience joy, love or other positive feelings. However, without being a Christian first, attempting to cast demons is extremely dangerous, as it was in biblical times. It's just one of those faith things. Believe it or don't. Experience it or don't. Dickerman keeps fishing.
I wasn't sure this book would coincide with my Catholic beliefs but in fact it strengthened my faith life. Don Dickerman's witness to the Word of Christ and His promise of salvation comes alive in his personal account of delivering lost souls to the feet of Christ and His healing love. Demonic 'oppression' not 'possession' is very real and the reason why many of us go through life a stranger to God and His grace. Hollywood has us thinking demonic forces operate in dramatic and frightening ways when in fact making us believe they don't exist at all is their true objective.The demons exist in many forms, hatred, anger, bitterness, envy, lust, pride, greed the list goes on. Addiction and dysfunction are primary weapons of demons that live in our thought life and exert their control over us. Dickerman states clearly this is the realm of the dark side where Satan's legions wage war on us because of their endless hatred of God. Powerful stuff and the message here that is shouted out on every page is Christ has given us the authority to cast these demons out of our life for good. His death on the cross was a ransom He paid for our souls. We belong to Him and Him only. We only need to open our hearts to His love and grace to be granted authority over these demonic forces in His name.I would think this would be a bunch of bull*** but I have lived most of my life in confusion and despair and this book has shed light on so much that I believe in what Dickerman is preaching. Read it if you are tired of hopeless despair and being a victim to self destructive behavior.
One of the best books on Spiritual warfare and demons, which we are in a spiritual battle daily....scripture and thisPastor was taught by God, through the Holy Spirit...excellent book...all churches should recommend this reading for believers tobe aware of this side of the Christian walk...ever wonder why some people just are in church week after week and don't growor mature in the Lord.....read this book....it is in the Word of God, but we as believers have not been taught how to fight thisrealm....it is real, it does exist...Read this book, it gives scripture after scripture and informs you of the downfalls in this life....also graces us with prayers for thebelievers to say....this is a book that you will have in your possession all your life...We need to know How powerful the name of Jesus is, and what has already been done at the Cross and live in that freedom...do not let yourself be bound again, free yourself...don't allow the enemy to tell you lies...be aware of the sin and what is behind sinin our lives....there is a Satan and demons and they are alive and well, but our Lord has Overcome....live the overcomers life.
I was introduced to this book as part of our church’s community group bible study. While I have long thought that there must be more to the teachings of the Bible and Jesus than just redemption and salvation, that was all I have ever been taught—believe in Jesus Christ, repent your sins, and you are saved. This book has confirmed my suspicion that there is so much more. I am thankful to my church for taking the plunge. In doing so, I now have a better understanding of spiritual warfare and preparing myself for it.
